Afternoon Tea at Mapperley
June 2013

Our event on Saturday 15th June was a complete sell out. We were really happy with how smoothly it all went but have to say we could not have achieved such a lovely event without the help of helpers, bakers and donators. Giving their time so generously on the day were, Joan Waterfall, Brenda Tunnicliffe, Abbie and Andy Quinn, Tracy Shaw, Gary Trueman, Ashley  Carter, Lauren Cooke, Pete and Dave Heywood.

Making the atmosphere very special was our young pianist Charlotte Bell. An amazing young 17 year old who happily sat playing the piano for the duration of the tea.

Bakers sweating over a hot stove, Sheila Parkinson, Linda Parkes, Barbara Leah, Rachael Moon and Ali Quinn.

We are indebted to Barlows Butchers Crackling Pig Hog Roast and BBQ  of Newthorpe  for their  generous donation of scrumptious ham and beef and others who so generously donated food and raffle items, Lisa Rice, West Hallam chippie, Prime Pizzeria and Tesco. Ilkeston Bowl and Finger Trix Ilkeston to name just a few.

All this resulted in a massive £500 being raised which has been donated to Leukaemia and Cancer Research.

Our most sincere thanks to everyone who supported us.

Elaine Sarson and Alison Quinn
