The Wyatt Family

This photograph of the Wyatt family is the family of Mrs Dorothy Hobson, Ernie Hobson's wife. See also the photograph showing her parents.

The Wyatt family lived at The Lodge House just below Mapperley School. The father Edward William as the Head Kitchen Gardener at Shipley Hall. The massive garden at the Lodge House had a large orchard at the top and most of the land was taken for Council Houses.

Jill was born in 1942 and is the daughter of Edward (Ted) Hobson and Kathleen (nee Fretwell)

The photograph is taken outside their front door at Manor House. Ernie was leaving for his afternoon shift at Mapperley Pit
